Just for fun.
3.a.2 Teardown: Direct TV Broadband Adapter - DECABB1MR0-01.
At the first.
Direct TV Broadband Adapter ( DECABB1MR0-01 ) is a simple "Ethernet-to-Coaxial Adapter" needed to connect your DirecTV receivers to home Ethernet network (to ISP router or so). This makes an additional network through coaxial cables that already exist in your house.
If simpler, then it is a bridge, between Ethernet and coax (almost "brainless") which uses MoCA technology.
Just for clarification: we are talking about such a device.
The following diagram shows how it connected. This may be slightly different, but the idea will be the same.

Simply convert signals from Eth network to coax cable network. One MAC adress on Eth side.
Under the hood.
Nothing unusual on the top of the board, with the exception of DC-DC converter (black cube close to DC input) that electrically isolates power and ground.

The same below, sources of constant voltage.

It was a bit unusual to see ATMEL chip (MEGA168) used to talk between RS-232 and rest of the board.

+3.3V, TX, RX, GND (see other picture for pin out), speed - 57600, and you will see the output, the same as in the pictures below. Type 'help' to see a list of commands that are available.

Exactly the same (or little more), only in a text file.
Actually, this is all that is needed for me at the moment.
